Muhammad Swazuri the former National Land Commission Chairman will again spend 7 more nights in custody awaiting his hearing next Thursday on whether his cash bail of Sh million will be reviewed.


Swazuri and others are accused of fraudulent payment of Sh109 million to acquire land from Tornado Carriers. Swazuri was to be released on Sh30 million bond or Sh12 million cash bail, however, he applied for the review of the cash bail terming it as unfair. The charges against them are of serious economic crimes and the court said the terms were fair for such offences.
Others accused together with Swazuri include: Emma Njogu former commissioner, Tom Aziz former NLC chief executive, Salome Munubi valuation and taxation director,Francis Mugo finance and administration director, and Catherin Wanjiru lawyer.
