The Journey
There was a team of 7 KDM members who set out to travel all over Kenya to help with food distribution.
What came to be simply known as skip-lunch started as a one man’s vision to do something Kenyan’s going hungry due to the effects of Covid-19 pandemic. When the humanitarian and CEO of KDM Diaspora Media saw the suffering in Kenya, he had to do something about it. He started the Diaspora Skip Lunch Feed Kenya Covid-19 Initiative with the aim of spreading the the little we have to as many people as possible. Within 3 days of appealing for funds, the fundraiser goal of $20,000 had been reached. The operation to feed the hungry was well planned and well organized and it took only 17 days to cover 30 communities while distributing food to 200 people in each of the communities. By the end of the operation, a total of 6,000 people had been fed. Please click the above video to see more in-depth information about the operation.
